Yankee Stadium
Ballfield Control Lighting System
Performed specialized electrical infrastructure and lighting control system installation services at the new Yankee Stadium in partnership with URS Corporation Group Consultants and Bovis Lend Lease, supporting one of the most high-profile sports and entertainment construction projects in New York City. Scope included installation and integration of advanced ballfield lighting control systems, dedicated lighting control panels, power distribution infrastructure, conduit and feeder systems, control wiring, relay and interface panels, commissioning support, and integration with stadium-wide electrical and broadcast infrastructure. Additional work included electrical infrastructure supporting ESPN International broadcast platform operations associated with stadium event coverage. Work required precise coordination with stadium operations, broadcast requirements, and MLB-grade lighting performance standards to support nationally televised sporting events and live venue operations.
Providing Solutions for Complex, Large-Scale Projects
Kanta Electric performed specialized electrical infrastructure and lighting control system installation services for portions of the new Yankee Stadium development in the Bronx, one of the most prominent sports venue construction projects completed in New York City in recent decades.
Working in coordination with URS Corporation Group Consultants, Bovis Lend Lease, and project stakeholders, Kanta participated in the installation and integration of advanced ballfield lighting control infrastructure supporting the stadium’s professional-grade field lighting systems. The project involved complex coordination between power distribution systems, lighting controls, broadcast infrastructure, and operational systems required to support Major League Baseball game operations, nationally televised broadcasts, live events, and high-capacity venue functionality.
Kanta’s scope included installation of dedicated lighting control infrastructure, control panels, feeder systems, conduit and wiring systems, relay and interface equipment, branch circuitry, and associated electrical systems supporting the stadium’s field lighting control operations. Additional scope included electrical infrastructure supporting ESPN International broadcast platform operations associated with live event coverage and televised productions within the stadium environment. The work required precise system integration and commissioning coordination to meet stringent performance standards governing illumination levels, switching reliability, broadcast compatibility, and operational redundancy within a world-class sports venue environment.

The new Yankee Stadium, opened in 2009 adjacent to the original historic stadium site, became one of the most technologically advanced sports facilities in Major League Baseball, featuring sophisticated broadcast, entertainment, security, and building systems infrastructure integrated throughout the venue. Executed within a fast-paced, highly coordinated construction environment involving multiple trades and specialty contractors, the project demanded strict sequencing, technical precision, and coordination across mission-critical venue systems.
