Electrical Infrastructure for Piers 1 & 2 at Brooklyn Bridge Park
Kanta Electric partnered with Turner Construction to deliver comprehensive electrical solutions for the design and development of Brooklyn Bridge Park. The project incorporated energy-efficient strategies, including dimmable lighting and advanced lighting control systems, supporting the park’s sustainable design goals. Electrical services, site lighting, and lightning protection were carefully integrated to enhance safety, performance, and long-term reliability within this high-profile public waterfront space.
Understanding the Site and Challenges
Kanta Electric performed major electrical infrastructure installation services for the redevelopment of Brooklyn Bridge Park Piers 2 & 3 as part of the continued transformation of the Brooklyn waterfront into one of New York City’s premier public open-space and recreational destinations. Working in coordination with Turner Construction, Kanta’s scope included installation of site electrical distribution systems, underground electrical infrastructure, conduit and wiring systems, waterfront lighting systems, pathway and public-space lighting controls, fire alarm systems, grounding systems, and associated power distribution infrastructure supporting the large-scale public waterfront redevelopment project.

Executed within a complex active urban waterfront environment, the project required extensive coordination across multiple trades, phased construction sequencing, underground utility integration, and installation of critical public infrastructure systems designed to support long-term operational reliability, public safety, and durability within a marine-adjacent environment.
The redevelopment of Brooklyn Bridge Park represented a major investment in New York City’s public waterfront infrastructure, transforming former industrial piers into world-class recreational, cultural, and public gathering spaces serving residents and visitors throughout the city.
